Add notes to the score

In general, you add notes to a score by recording on software instrument tracks, as described in Record software instruments.

Alternatively, you can add notes directly using the pointer. You choose the note value for added notes from the Insert pop-up menu in the Score Editor inspector.

Add notes using the pointer

  • Choose a note value from the Insert pop-up menu in the local Score Editor inspector, then Command-click at the point where you want to add a note.

You can also add pedal markings from the Insert pop-up menu. Select the Ped. symbol, then Command-click in the score at the point where you want to add a pedal down symbol, then drag the pedal up symbol to the point where you want to release the pedal.
