How to get help

GarageBand provides several ways for you to get answers to questions, learn about controls and functions while you’re working, and view detailed information about all aspects of the application. You can also view information directly in the application using the Quick Help feature.

In addition to being available from the GarageBand Help menu, GarageBand Help is available online using a web browser.

Quick Help

Get a brief description of windows, controls, and other elements of the GarageBand interface without leaving the application or interrupting your workflow. You can view Quick Help in a movable, floating window.

To view Quick Help in a floating window, choose Help > Quick Help.

GarageBand Help

See detailed information about the GarageBand interface, commands, and menus, and step-by-step instructions for creating GarageBand projects and for accomplishing specific tasks.

To view GarageBand Help from within GarageBand, choose Help > GarageBand Help.
To view GarageBand Help online, browse to https://help.apple.com/garageband/mac/.

Logic Remote

For iPad users, the Logic Remote app (available from the App Store) lets you view detailed Help information on your iPad while you work in GarageBand.
